Universities Fighting World Hunger (UFWH) began in 2004 as a partnership between the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) and Auburn University in Alabama. Since its inception, nearly 100 colleges and universities have pledged to raise awareness about hunger issues on their campuses, engage in advocacy initiatives on behalf of the hungry and encourage faculty and administrators to integrate the topic of hunger and the academic agendas of their institutions.
