WFP Committee of Austin

Welcome to the WFP Committee of Austin. We have been actively meeting since June 2008. We are looking for volunteers with an interest in raising awareness and raising money for those in need. Last year, we raised awareness by sending letters to local newspapers and Public Service Announcements to TV stations. We were also able to raise over $300 to feed approximately 1,200 kids in Africa through WFP’s School Meals Program. In 2009, we want to contact government officials, organize fundraising events at live music concerts and spread the word.

Description: The WFP Committee of Austin has teamed up with Stubbs BBQ, a local restaurant, for a night of live music on January 29. A suggested donation of $10, to benefit Friends of the World Food Program, gets you an evening of great music and free beer!
