Roadmap to End Global Hunger
Roadmap to End Global HungerFriends of WFP and its coalition partners are working together to develop the Roadmap to End Global Hunger, which outlines key steps to ensure the United States leads the way in alleviating world hunger. The Roadmap identifies specific activities needed to address global hunger in the short, intermediate and long term, as well as funding requirements. It will guide Congress and the Obama administration in establishing a comprehensive strategy to address global hunger and improve coordination and efficiency across the various agencies, offices and programs that are part of the U.S. hunger alleviation effort. On June 11, 2009, The Roadmap to End Global Hunger and Promote Food Security Act of 2009 (The Roadmap Act, H.R. 2817) was introduced by U.S. Representatives Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) and Jo Ann Emerson (R-Mo.). This legislation will enact key recommendations of the Roadmap.
